115 years ago, Mother Pia Backes and the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose took a leap of faith by establishing a new educational institution in the heart of Los Angeles’ first neighborhood, Lincoln Heights. Sacred Heart High School is hope in action, an oasis built on the promise of Love.

A myriad of lay women, men, and Dominican Sisters have courageously and fearlessly led this journey bringing a Dominican education to reality. Because of their selflessness, Sacred Heart is able to continue to live out its mission of “empowering young women” to be powerful, to be unstoppable. It was their selfless “yes” to serve “the young, the poor, and the vulnerable” that has inspired our vision to ensure that Sacred Heart is Forever. We are called to continue the Sisters’ legacy of service and love, and in doing so, we are happy to share the launch of our Forever Sacred Heart campaign.

Our campaign, which aims to raise $10 million in the next five years, will ensure a viable and sustainable future for Sacred Heart. It will embolden our school community to thrive as we continue to help our current and future students write their own stories. As we journey faithfully forward, we are filled with hope by our commitment to ensure the promise of a better tomorrow.
