I transferred to Sacred Heart during my sophomore year, and all I was seeking was a home away from home. My fifteen-year-old self never believed Sacred Heart would become such a significant part of me. Entering Sacred Heart, I knew I wanted to make an impact; however, I did not exactly know how. The Sacred Heart volleyball program truly opened so many doors for me. It was at Sacred Heart that, because of my amazing friends and supportive teachers and staff, I acknowledged that I did possess the skills to be a leader. With this undeniable support, I decided to take a leap of faith and accept the position of Senior Team Leader for E.L.E.V.A.T.E., along with being the Associated Student Body President. Along with these positions, I was Varsity Volleyball Captain, Letterwomen Society Co-President, Comet Crazies Vice President, Softball Team Manager, Secretary of the Leo’s Club, a member of the Serve Always Club, and a member of the Barristers Club. Through all these positions, I have been able to be the change I so heartily wanted to see.
Sacred Heart has always been a place of love, support, inspiration, and empowerment, but the E.L.E.V.A.T.E. Initiative has strengthened all these values so much. I am beyond grateful for being a part of the community of people who were able to change the trajectory of the school. Because of the ELEVATE Initiative, I witnessed sisterhood at its greatest extent.
Sacred Heart is a place that I can consider my second home. I can return to Sacred Heart whenever I need to and be welcomed back with endless support. I thank Sacred Heart for all it has given me. With all Sacred Heart has taught me, I am confident as I take on this new journey in my life.
